Sydhavnsbølgen trip to Budapest January 2026
As a part of our collaboration with: Lahmacun, in Hungary RadiOrakel, in Norway Seyðisfjörður Community Radio, in Iceland ICRN, international org. Refuge Worldwide, in Germany We are going on a trip to visit Lahmacun Community Radio in Budapest over a few days in January.
The point of the trip is to get to know other community radio people, learn from them, and have a good time.
Details Travel out: Thursday 22 January 2026 Travel home: Sunday 25 January 2026 Travel, housing are covered by the European Union. Some food costs will also be covered. Deadline to apply: 17th November 2025 (you will hear back by 26 November 2025)
Who can apply? Anyone can apply - but applicants will be accessed by level of engagement at the station. Want to get more involved in Sydhavnsbølgen Community Radio? Click here.
Applications will be assessed based on experience at the station, project community benefit. The project is funded by an Erasmus+ Youth grant, so priority will be given to youths (18-30).
How will we travel? By airplane, from Aarhus or Copenhagen airport.
Where will we stay? At shared Airbnb flats. Ideally everyone will have their own room.
What will the days look like? The trip outline is still in the works, but the days will look something like this:
- Breakfast is up to you
- 10:00 Meet up at Lahmacun's studios for a workshop / discussion
- 12:00 Lunch as a group
- 13:00 Work on co-produced show
- 16:00 You're on your own
- 18:00 Maybe a dinner with the other participants
- later... maybe an outing with the other participants
Who else will be there? There will be a minimum of 2 people from each of the other project-partner radio stations, other young people passionate about community radio. The other stations are really cool - you should check them out.
What languages will be spoken? Any shared language(s) that you have. Most likely English will be the main language.
