Open Call

We are looking for new shows for fall 2026.

What types of shows? Music shows, talk shows, experimental-live-call-in-quiz shows, political podcasts, you name it.

How does this open call work? Are you an aspiring radio host, wanting to elevate the radiosphere in Aarhus? Dope! Write a short text about your show - maybe attach a small soundbite, if you're already there - and send it our way. A small committee of volunteers at the station will look though the application and contact the shows we see suitable for Sydhavnsbølgen <3 If your show concept is accepted, you will be paired with an existing show host, who will show you the ropes of how we make radio. They will support you in making your first two episodes, and then you have the chance to cancel your show or schedule it for a 6 month season.

Who controls my show? You do! You have full creative control of your show.

How is it published? Your show will be broadcast this website during your timeslot. Your past episodes will be available to stream anytime, also here on the website, and also in podcast apps if it's that type of show.

Where can I make my show? You can make your show in our studios in Mejlgade, or you can record and/or broadcast your show from the field. You can pre-record your show, or broadcast live. We have equipment you can borrow for recording or broadcasting from the field.

What are the evaluation criterea? Sydhavnsbølgen's mission is to broadcast voices that are young, and/or representing an underground sound, and/or representing an under-represented-on-the-radio-group or interest area, and/or voices that talk about things that are super local to Århus.

So your show concept will be judged based on that. If it isn't accepted on this first round, there's a very good chance your show concept will be accepted later on, when we have more capacity to onboard new people.

Membership Sydhavnsbølgen is a part of Frontløberne, so everyone with a show must become a member there. This costs 350kr a year, and gives you 24hr access to the community center and its facilities.
