Let's Learn How to Conduct CRITICAL INCIDENT INTERVIEWS

Do you (want to) conduct field interviews and observations? Do you want to become better at it?
The Critical Incident interview technique was developed to document recurring problems and solutions experienced by specialists such as combat pilots. Therefore it is a useful tool for designers and community organizers, but it is also excellent for anyone who wants to collect and tell interesting stories about interesting people.
The technique consists in asking informants to recount recent and memorable experiences, and using follow-up questions to elaborate precisely what they saw, heard, felt, and did. Critical incident interviews ground participants in their personal experiences, rather than asking them to speak in general or global terms.
At the workshop, Memphis will give a brief presentation of how to conduct a critical incident interview, then we will practice interviewing each other in pairs or small groups, and finally review what we learned together.
Thanks to support from the EU through the project Radio Radio Radio.
The workshop is free and anyone can attend, but please pre-register here:
